The beach in Amoudi is mainly shingle with a little sand, but this area is perfect for snorkelling and fishing, and you will regularly see the locals hauling in the catch of the day or come back after spear fishing for small octopus to cook at the local restaurants.

Amoudi being a small village, less tourist influenced than the others has some fine Taverna’s one aptly named Amoudi Taverna, which offers great food and some great drinks too boot, with very friendly staff and owners. Also try out Achillion Taverna.

We’ve been getting good reports from visitors to Amoudi, Alykes and Alykanas of two great Taverna's. The first is Tasos Taverna which sits on the opposite side of the village from Alykanas and also Shoestring which sits nicely in between Amoudi and the village of Alykanas. If your intending to visit any of these villages then these Taverna's are a must.

Amoudi doesn't have any nightlife as such just some really quiet bars to sit and relax and chat with the locals. Try Camelot bar for a good night. If you want to explore the rest of Zante then Amoudi is a good place to be, its close to Navagio or the Shipwrecked beach, and you can also get a hire car and explore inland and enjoy the lush scenery that can be found on this wonderful island.

Amoudi has some wonderful hotels to stay in and they can be booked through most tour operators or even by direct bookings on the internet, mostly you will find apartments and studios here, and one very recommended place to stay is Ionian View apartments which are located in the charming scenic village of Amoudi and overlook the amazing clear Ionian blue sea.

If your looking for studios or accommodation in Amoudi then your best bet is to try Lowcostbeds.com although most of their hotels sit in Alykanas or Alykes, but you may be lucky and pick up an Amoudi hotel.

The coach transfer from Zante airport will usually take around 65 minutes although you could hire a car or grab a taxi to speed up the journey.

Amoudi is a very small village located just 20 minutes walk away from Alykanas and Alykes. A very quiet resort which is perfect for those who want a quiet relaxing holiday and to meet other like minded holiday makers. The beach of Amoudi is small and sandy, but very welcoming and perfect for sunbathing and snorkelling.

People who want to experience the real side of Greece need to visit here and enjoy the small but perfectly formed beaches, relaxing nights and lovely surroundings.

Being such a small village the hoteliers here offer the warmest welcome you could ever find, there are a lot of small hotels and apartments you can book direct or find in a select number of travel agents. The Beach in Amoudi is quite small but very clean and with fantastic views of Kefalonia.

There is no actual public transport running through Amoudi so you will have to hire a car if you want to get around.

We recommend Amoudi for older couples, or families and couples who just want to experience the “Real Greece” and enjoy possibly the most stress free holiday ever.
