What to do in Argassi

Argassi is a small resort but packed with enough bars and places to go to keep you occupied all through the holiday. Most local hotels run Greek Nights with Greek dancing, live Greek music and special events.  The nightlife here is not to overt the top but more than enough to keep you, your partner or family occupied and entertained.  You do get younger groups in their late 20’s and early 30’s coming here but the atmosphere is always good and if people want more nightlife they normally head to Laganas by taxi of a night.

You will also find the bars play a lot of live music, and it shows that Greek traditions are alive and well in the smaller less bustling resorts.  If you have kids then there is a great mini-golf area here called fantasy mini golf which keeps the kids and adults entertained for hours.  You will find a few English themed bars if you like pub quizzes and karaoke, and the price of drinks in Argassi is just right.

Around the area of Argassi scuba diving is a popular pastime, and you can visit many different wrecks and areas or just go on shallow dives with the qualified instructors.  If you don’t want to go the whole hog and dive you can always by a set of flippers and a snorkelling set and swim around the rocky bays.  If your into fishing then make sure you pack your telescopic rod as there is plenty of grey mullet to be caught in this area as well as black bream.

Argassi - Travel Guide

The holiday resort of Argassi is one of the most popular destinations in Zante, it has everything for the perfect family holiday including a great beach, excellent Greek Taverna’s, lively family orientated nightlife and a great choice of hotels and apartments.

The resort of Argassi is just 4km from the main airport of Zante and is a short coach trip from the main airport.  On entering the resort you will be overwhelmed by the beauty of the place, the town centre is the main point of life here and everything is built around it.

With a backdrop of the stunning Mount Skopos and its lush green hills and refreshing scents of pine and thyme.  If your looking for a quite relaxing beach holiday the resort of Argassi has a beach that stretches for 1km.  If you here to see the sights you can easily catch a ferry to Kefalonia, or a round the island boat trip to see the Blue caves and Smugglers Cove.

Your also close to the main capital which is Zante Town, so if you have had your fill of shopping in Argassi then you can catch a bus for a few euros to the capital and fill your bags with some great local produce or duty free perfumes and electrical's.

Argassi is perfect for couples, families and even older single travellers.  It has something for everyone but is not too over the top and has kept its charm and warm Greek hospitality.
